After six years in Perth, I’ve got to admit, the beaches here are something else. Coming from England, where grey skies and drizzle are the norm. Perth’s coastline has become a game-changer for me.

The laidback vibe and consistently good weather make it hard to imagine calling any other place home.

In this article, I’ll take you through the best spots to make an unforgettable Perth travel itinerary. So, let’s get started and discover this beautiful city together.

Discovering Perth: An Overview

Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, is nestled on the banks of the picturesque Swan River. Known for its beautiful beaches, laidback vibes, Rottnest island quokkas, surfing and stunning natural landscapes, Perth offers a wide range of activities and attractions to explore.

As the fourth-largest city in Australia, Perth boasts a unique blend of cosmopolitan charm and breathtaking scenery, making it an ideal destination for both nature lovers and city dwellers.

Situated in the southern hemisphere, Perth enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters, making it a great place to visit year-round.

Perth Population

Perth currently has a population of roughly 2,143,000

Weather in Perth: Best Times to Visit

When planning your Perth itinerary, it’s important to consider the best time to visit to make the most of your experience. As Perth is located in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are opposite to those in the northern hemisphere. The city experiences a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, slightly wet winters.

The best time to visit Perth is during the warmer months of November to April. Summer officially starts in December and ends in March where temps range from 30-40 celcius.

On the other hand, if you’re a fan of mild temperatures and want to avoid the crowds, the winter months in Australia are June to August and are a great time to visit the waterfalls.

While the weather may be cooler, ranging from 12-20 Celsius (50s to low 70s Fahrenheit), you’ll still be able to enjoy the city’s cultural attractions and indoor activities. Plus, the city’s parks and gardens are beautifully lush during this time of year.
